National Recognition Establishes Steuben Child Care Project as One of the Leading
Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies in the Country
Arlington, VA – December 23, 2010 –The National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) announced today that Steuben Child Care Project (SCCP) based in Bath, New York, has attained Quality Assurance. As a NACCRRA Quality Assured organization, SCCP has established itself as one of the leading Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) in the nation.

NACCRRA Quality Assurance is a voluntary, national certification program for the field of Child Care Resource and Referral, including State Networks and local CCR&Rs. It is a rigorous and comprehensive validation process that enables CCR&Rs to meet Best Practices Criteria for delivering outstanding Child Care Resource and Referral services to parents, providers, businesses and communities. If successful in meeting Best Practices Criteria, State Networks and local CCR&Rs become validated in all service areas and serve as models of excellence in the field of Child Care Resource & Referral.
SCCP is a division of Pro Action Inc., established in 1985 as a nonprofit, 501(c) (3) community action agency serving low-income children and families in Steuben and Yates counties, New York, for more than 40 years. SCCP employs 19 staff in total, and constituents include parents, providers, the community-at-large and employers. Their services include child care resource and referral, parent education, and facilitated enrollment into the child care subsidy program for parents; training and technical assistance, Child and Adult Care Food Program, business management including micro-lending programs, health care consultancy; legally exempt provider enrollment and subsidy payments for child care providers/programs.
