Child Care Aware® of America parent leader Elly Lafkin was featured March 11 on WHSV-TV, Harrisonburg, Va.’s ABC affiliate, in a news segment that highlighted the dangers of unlicensed, unregulated child care.

Lafkin’s 13-week-old daughter Camden died in May 2012 at an unlicensed, unregulated, but legal family day care near her Shenandoah, Va., home. Her story was also featured in a Washington Post article last weekend about the need for stronger child care standards in Virginia.
