L. Carol Scott, Ph.D., was named President-Elect of Child Care Aware® of America during the organization’s annual Policy Symposium held last week in Washington, D.C.
Scott, Chief Executive Officer of Child Care Aware® of Missouri and currently Board Vice President, was elected by the membership and will succeed Michael Olenick, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of the Child Care Resource Center in Chatsworth, California, when his term expires in 2014.
During Symposium, nearly 400 early learning professionals met for three days to hear more about President Obama’s early learning agenda, advocate for quality child care on Capitol Hill and participate in facilitated discussions on topics including pre-k, Head Start, financing child care, family engagement and emergency preparedness.

Week of the Young Child™ brings public attention to the needs of young children and their families and recognizes the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
