Child Care Aware® of America is presenting a series of free Lunch & Learn webinars featuring details about the new child care rules proposed by the U.S.. Department of Health and Human Services. The proposal revises current regulations to better promote the safety and healthy development of children and promote school readiness.
The first webinar, on June 6, presented HHS rules on background checks. The second webinar was on June 13, covering inspections as they relate to health and safety.
The third webinar, on June 27, discussed the proposed new training requirements. Topics of discussion included HHS’ request for comments about whether a specific number of hours should be required and whether training requirements should be linked to accountability. The fourth webinar, on July 11, will discuss HHS’ proposed rules to require a more robust consumer education system, including quality indicators.
On July 18, the series continues with a session covering proposed changes to the quality set-aside. The Lunch & Learn on July 25 will discuss the best way to share your comments and concerns with HHS and answer any questions you may have.
